Hillsborough County Government Internship for High School Students!

Hillsborough County is seeking high school students who have excelled both inside and outside of the classroom. Applicants must be high school students currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are invited to compete for placement in the Hillsborough County Local Government Management Internship Program. Successful candidates must have exceptional organizational, leadership, and critical thinking skills. Students must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. 

During the summer of 2014, students will be required to complete the duties of their internship placement, participate in local government meetings, attend Local Government Seminars, and provide a final presentation on their experience at a Board of County Commissioners meeting. Local Government Seminars will be facilitated by University of Tampa Associate Professor, Scott Paine and/or Nereia Cormier at no cost to the student. The interns are expected to work professionally in a office environment and will be required to work on their projects and attend tours for at least 10-15 hours per week.
