USF Cyber-Camp

The FC2 Pathway to Cyber Camp is designed for rising high school juniors/seniors with a strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn hands-on techniques. Pathway to Cyber allows students to develop the foundational skills necessary for future careers in cybersecurity as well as the basic skills necessary to participate in other cybersecurity efforts and events
supported by the FC2. With USF student members of the Whitehatters Computer Security Club (WCSC) serving as instructors, high school participants will have an opportunity to engage with and learn from college students who share a similar passion for technology. This five-day, fastpaced program will provide participants a practical learning experience and perspective on the broader field of cybersecurity career options. In addition to gaining valuable experience in real-world computer security fundamentals, program participants will also have an opportunity to develop relationships with like-minded high school students and become part of a student-driven, cybersecurity social network. Throughout the student camp session, students utilize IRC and Slack to communicate, and
students will be encouraged to remain connected with undergraduate mentors once they complete return to their high school studies. Each student will work directly with an undergraduate member of the WCSC, allowing for mentoring and constant supervision of all participants throughout the camp. The student camp sessions will be hosted at the HCC Ybor City Campus in two separate sessions, July 11-15 and July 18-22. Lunch and parking will be provided.
